The Healthier Futures team working to deliver the state-of-the-art campus comprises of professionals with substantial experience. 

The team is led by Russ Favager, Chris Knights, and Nicola Clemo. Here’s a bit more about them:

Russ_Favager_2.jpgRuss has more than 30 years’ experience in the NHS. Prior to moving full-time to lead on the New Hospital Programme he was Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Finance Officer for the Trust, and was Interim Chief Executive for a period in 2022. Prior to joining the Trust in April 2019 Russ was Executive Director of Finance for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and previously held the position of Director of Finance at the Cheshire, Warrington and Wirral Area Team of NHS England, where his responsibilities included commissioning £1.9bn of specialised services for the whole of the north west, along with various other Director of Finance posts within the Cheshire and Merseyside area. At previous organisations Russ has been the Board lead through the SRO status for numerous developments.

Chris Knights.jfifChris reports to the SRO and is overseeing the successful delivery of the programme. Chris has worked in the NHS for over 25 years within a variety of strategic planning and operational roles. He has previously worked with Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust on its new hospitals programme. He also led the development of the £380m Full Business Case for St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, as well as being project director on a number of medium-sized capital developments. 

Nicola Clemo.jfifNicola leads the Project Management Office team and supports the programme director in driving the strategic direction of the project and ensuring cost, quality, and time targets are met. Nicola also supports various workstreams to ensure alignment between all. Her previous strategic health planning and business case experience ranges from the £70m Brighton Community Health Hub, One Public Estate works, such as the Trafford Locality Asset Review, to Hospital Infrastructure Programme schemes, such as the new £575m North Manchester health campus.

We have also appointed professional advisors to support the delivery of the programme.

These include Ryder Architects (Lead design team); WT Partnerships (Cost consultant); PwC (Business case author); Capsticks (Legal advisor), Gleeds (Project management), Archus Ltd (Healthcare planner), and HLM Architects, delivered by Akerlof (social value strategy).
