It has always been our key commitment to involve our staff, partners, stakeholders, and the local communities in our plans to develop a health and care neighbourhood, which will include Crewe’s new Leighton Hospital.
This is why earlier this month we hosted three public and two staff engagement sessions, where we were able to speak to, and hear from, a broad range of people.
People raised a variety of matters that are important to them, such as parking, use of land once the new hospital is built, programme timings, funding, the environmental impact of the programme, the building design, including health and wellbeing considerations, as well as access to the new site.
We plan to review the comments and feedback received, before communicating these back.
For those who were unable to participate, we can assure you that we fully intend to speak to staff, patients, the public, partners, and stakeholders throughout the region. These initial sessions were just the start of the engagement journey. We will hold more sessions in the future, including with our staff at the Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, Infinity House in Crewe, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. Once these have been planned, we will promote widely to ensure we get as much attendance and feedback as possible.
In the meantime, you can provide feedback or ask any questions via the Contact Us page.
In addition to these engagement events, we have also provided face-to-face briefings to elected representatives – Sarah Russell, MP for Congleton; Aphra Brandreth, MP for Chester South and Eddisbury; Connor Naismith, MP for Crewe and Nantwich; Andrew Cooper, MP for Mid Cheshire, along with Cllr Nick Mannion, leader of the Cheshire East Council; Cllr Joy Bratherton, Cheshire East member for Crewe North; Cllr Becky Posnett, Cheshire East member for Bunbury; and Cllr Margaret Simon, Cheshire East member for Wistaston.
