We are delighted to share the news that our Strategic Outline Case (SOC) has been endorsed by the National Hospital Programme’s Investment Committee.

The SOC is the first of three business cases we needed to complete before we can begin construction of our new Leighton.

The next stage will see the SOC go to the Joint Investment Committee in December 2024, which is the final sign-off for the first business case.

In the meantime, the Healthier Futures team has already begun work on the second business case, called the Outline Business Case (OBC). This business case stage is where we will start to design our new Leighton in more detail and marks the start of a step change in our engagement with our staff, patients and community and we look forward to sharing these plans with you further over the coming weeks and months.

As part of our ongoing work with the NHP, senior members of the programme recently visited Leighton Hospital for a positive working meeting.

Natalie Forrest, Senior Responsible Officer; Morag Stuart, Chief Programme Officer; Mike Shaw, Lead Advisor, Technical Services; and Darren Crook, Executive Delivery Director, met with Ian Moston, Trust CEO, Russ Favager, Board Senior Responsible Officer, Chris Knights, Programme Director, and Nicola Clemo, Deputy Programme Director.

The high-level strategy meeting allowed us and the NHP to agree priorities, and discuss working to key timescales in order to ensure the successful delivery of this programme.
